Manila fashion | Katharine Sise NecklaceFrom that moment when a woman discovers fashion, the tale of their affair with accessories will be long and old, er, in this case, vintage. Some prefer the expensive frosting but some like them fun and versatile. Of course, not all women can spend their hard earned cash on jewelry even when they wanted to.

Long necklaces have graced the necks of fashionistas since the rise of the trend back in mid-2005. It has been a variety of beads, pearls, crystals and chains. But now, the trend is heading towards the direction of simple long chains with multiple pendants or a statement one. I’ve seen long chains in gold and silver. Pendants can be fashioned to match the chain but often times, a great way to accentuate the accessory (somewhat redundant, eh?) is to use colours like red or turquoise (as seen on the image below).

Long necklaces Athena, Ingrid and Luna are available at Fashionista’s Haven by Chantal. Unfotunately, Katharine Sise, the necklace featured on the top photo is not for sale here but is said to cost around $216 (correct me if I’m wrong).

All three necklaces are vintage fashioned and gold plated. Athena has a 3″ pendant and chain that’s 26″ long, priced at Php 450.00. Ingrid has a 4″ pendant and chain that’s 35″ long with extenders and Luna has a 3″ pendant and chain that’s 24″ long. Both are priced at Php 500.00 and all are available online.

Vintage necklaces are so hard to find. Do you know of a place where we can buy vintage stuff?

I love long necklaces, even before the long necklace with fruit pendant hit the scene. I particularly adore nouveu artwork. :) Ive seen alot of great pieces in etsy.com. Im a little hesistant to buy gold tone necklaces though, because most, if not real gold, can easily tarnish. The brass tones one depict that old vintage feel. :)
