Here Comes Dark Nail Polish

One of my many luxuries is a little nail-loving time spent in the salon. Yes, my dear fashionistas, treating myself to the occasional manicure and pedicure is pure heaven and the ultimate girl-y thing I’d do, er, except shopping for shoes, of course. Heh.

With that said, I’ve been in the mood to catch the trend in terms of nail lacquers. I’ve noticed that painting them dark is quite hot nowadays. Or didn’t you notice? I’ve seen blues and blacks around and they’re quite something. But I’m a virgin at this whole dark nail polish thing so I went about it a different way. Anyway, I thought I’d try it out on my nails and look at this somewhat unique colour, seen on the photos above. It’s a combination of a matte mahogany and chocolate brown shimmer coats that I asked the “manicurista” to use when I had my nails done. What do you think?

Another alternative would be have some fabulous looking Nail Art done. I saw some of the finished works during Market Night. I really wish I stopped by Lanie’s booth then. But I’m sure glad I met Sandy, who left me craving for an M Barretto bag, cuz she graciously informed me that Lanie will be hosting Nail Art Days at The Reading Room, located at Shop #39, Cubao Expo (formerly The Marikina Shoe Expo), Araneta Center, Cubao (it’s behind the old Rustan’s, which is behind Shopwise, which is in front of the entrance of the Araneta Coliseum). Store hours are Tuesdays to Sundays, 1pm to 10pm.

Dear me. My nails pale in comparison to the nails featured for the Nail Art. Egad. But I guess now you know why I’m raving about them, right? They’re positively adorable! It should be a fun thing to explore. What do you guys think?

I’ll probably hit two birds with one stone this coming September when I visit The Reading Room (it’s a bit of a trek, you see, and I really need to free up my schedule). I reckon I’ll get my nails done with Lanie’s Nail Art and then buy myself that M Barretto bag I’ll tell you all about in my next post. Hehe. Sounds like a plan, yeah? This is exciting. Can’t wait!

Yes dark polish is in, but in order to pull off the look without looking outdated, your nails must be very short.
