Mango and the Metallic Trend

14 August 2007 1,671 views 11 Comments

Mango and the Metallic TrendYou really can’t miss the rather large 50% thingamajig on their display window now, can you? Esp when it’s been there for the past few weeks. Yes, of course, I noticed. More often than not, I find myself gravitating towards a Mango shop. Who can resist the allure of a sale at your favourite store? Gah.

I went home carrying four items — nothing big, really — just three tops and a bottom. I mean, they’re pretty basic purchases, er, well, except for the gray sleeveless tunic that has this metallic effect, which I found cool.

Metallics, as you know, are quite the current rage. I reckon it’s the season of shiny and glossy looks, i.e. patents. And it’s probably why the gray colour is coming back into the fashion scene since it’s reminiscent of silver, a rather common component of the “metallic look”. Man, I have been seeing quite a number of items in gray (the colour, of course) and some, I must say, are trés chic.

Anyway, if you’re curious about my recent Mango purchase, check out the photo after the fold.

Mango Metallic Gray Sleeveless Tunic

Metallic Gray Sleeveless Tunic
Mango, Alabang Town Center
Php 699.00, 30% off (around $15)

The tunic is a bit loose for my waif-ish frame, so, the look I can go for will generally be a fusion of varied influences and a quiet sophistication that can only be found in a bit of Basquiat. Oh, this is going to be fun!

but it’s already the tail end of the sale, right? Don’t the window display read 70% already and not 50% anymore?

  • Sasha Manuel said:

I reckon it’s possible but I don’t exactly know. Well, I’m pretty sure I saw 50% on the display window, cuz it’s pretty much hard not to see the 3-foot display (not to mention I was wearing my contacts). I’m quite certain I can distiguish a 5 over a 7. But yea, they’re also offering 70% off on some items. I’m sure you already know that their discounts vary. :)
