Style Manila on a Styling Mission, Captured on TV
By Sasha Manuel

Believe me, if it weren’t for these photographs, I’d think it didn’t happen. LOL. Twas a whirlwind of activities and I often had to stop myself to catch up with the breathing. Oh, I’m enjoying the five minutes of fame and will just worry about the phone bills later. Gah.
Quick re-count of what happened that day, Saturday, 14 July 2007. Yes. It happened all in one day. Crazy, yeah? LOL.
8 am Weirdest of days. I’m used to sleeping in and waking up in the afternoon or, sometimes, I’m only awake at night (seemingly keeping vampire hours). But, lo and behold, I’m awake and was on the phone when the GMail notifier pinged me that I have new mail, from a certain Niña of ABS-CBN’s morning show, Umagang Kay Ganda.
10 am I received an inquiry on my email from ABS-CBN, one of the major TV stations here in the Philippines.
11am - 1pm I rounded up possible contacts for clothes pull-out and boutique availability for a location shoot. Plus I had to find a model to style.
1pm - 3pm I took care of putting together the things I needed to bring like extra clothes and accessories. Of course, I had to look presentable myself, if you know what I mean.
3pm - 5pm Model and friend, Eena Acuña, came over my place so I can do her makeup before the TV crew picks us up.
6pm - 11pm Shoot, styling, profiling and interview. Gawd. I was just about ready to put away my Black Quilted Patent Peep-toe Stilts and call it a night but we had to give Eena a ride back to Makati and yea, a wine party to attend.
According to Segment Producer KC Tamayo, they wanted to focus on Mix & Match styling and putting colour to an individual’s style whose preference is wearing black. I presented three styling ideas with just the use of one black top. My photographer (who I will not name — grrr) wasn’t around to take photos of the final outfits, hence, the lack of photos. I’ll try to talk about the outfits later on.
The show will air tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 July 2007. Let me know if you get to catch it, ok? I’m silently praying to the gods that I won’t end up looking like an idiot. Hahaha.
I had fun doing it, so, I guess it’s alright. Oh, btw, I want to extend my thanks to the Mossesgelds for loaning their lovely, lovely home for the interview part. You guys rock! Er, of course, I’m not being biased. LOL.
