Unpacking a Schu

schu boxesThey’ve arrived!

My 2 pairs of schu (the ones I bought online) are here!

There were a couple of minor glitches like, getting paranoid that they’ll get lost in transition, they didn’t get the payment I sent or the fear that the precious shoes will be grossly man-handled, but the important thing is they’re here! At last!

The schu Box
The boxes were pretty, a little ratty and fading along the edges but still pretty anyway. Brown and with just the brand printed out front. I love the ribbon used to keep the lid closed. It makes me think that it’s such a feminine touch on the total packaging of the shoes. The box itself has a personality of its own, me thinks.

schuThe Wrap

“I will be waiting for you like a pair of schu.”

That’s what it said on the paper wrap, which was carefully planned to face you, so, you’d see it as soon as you open the box. Clever. I wonder what it means, though.

Hmmm. Curious.

Feel free to let me know if you know its meaning. I’d appreciate it, actually. Hehe. Saves me the trouble of going off and finding out for myself. Heh.

The shoe! The schu!

Oh, the excitement! LOL.

Funny story behind this pair is that I originally ordered the one in Lilac, which wasn’t in Snakeskin, but they sent me the wrong size, based on consultation by email. But they gladly informed me that I can have them exchanged for the right size. However, they don’t have it in my size anymore, so, I was forced to settle on this one. It’s still pretty, though.

It was decided on a whim. I dared myself to be adventurous. I went for the funky looking shoes in a funky colour. Hehe. I’m not an orange type of person but I did buy a floral dress in orange for summer but that’s just about it. Oh, yea — I own a “prisoner” shirt (if you know what I mean). LOL. But can you guess what made it really stand out?

Clue: It’s not the colour. LOL.

The Plexi Heel

It’s been said that this is one of the “IT” shoe looks of the season. Just take a look at the choice of Emilio Pucci, he opted to use shoes like the Silver plexi platform shoes with black trims in his latest collection. It gives a futuristic element to the shoe.

Funny. The shoe looks so retro but the heel somehow pushes its era forward. Weird.

Anyway.

All I need to do now is wear them. Hehe. Believe it or not, I still haven’t had the chance. Ah, well. I’ll let you know when I do! Meanwhile, tell me what you think of them. :)

i wanna buy the orange one too! but im so not used wearing anything but flipflops and flats… do they feel uncomfy when worn?

  • Sasha Manuel said:

No, actually. They’re practically lightweight and the material is soft enough to allow movement when you walk. The strap that goes around the ankle helps make it stable when worn. :)

Ooh, so you’re an online shopper too? How are you able to know that the shoes fit you properly if you’re not gonna get the pair from a real store Ms. Sasha?

  • Sasha Manuel (author) said:

I prefer shoe shopping the traditional way. Though most online shops have sizing instructions, I still want to try them on first before shelling out the dough. If you’re buying a pair online, you can never be certain. There’s always the risk of ordering the wrong size so better make room for it.

This was just one (or only, I forget) of the rare times I’ve done it — shoe shopping online. Yes, I’m definitely NOT a convert.

  • Dianne said:

Ok, got that. I’m not a fan of online shoe-shopping as well. Same with online clothes-shopping. Hehe. But accessories are nice buys on the net, especially on Multiply.
