If there’s one thing I like doing, it’s coming up with combinations that would include items that have some sort of personality of its own. It’s either a detailed accent, fabric used, the print or the colour. Of course, accessories is a whole different story and plays a major part in achieving a certain look. Styling has become part and parcel of my personality.

For now, I’m focusing on the main points of an outfit: the top, the bottom and the shoes.

Unfortunately, not a lot of local fashion brands (and even designers) have an online presence, so I have limited resources (so to speak). But I did visit Folded & Hung and was inspired to do a little styling activity.

I picked out a washed out blue sleeveless empire v-neck blouse with a printed tie belt accent for the top, and a pleated seam, cuffed shorts with a tie-knot hem accent for the bottoms, from their collection.

This loose top and shorts look is not entirely new since, apart from the fact that I’ve seen women wearing the combo back in the early 2006 when I was in Australia, it also is becoming quite popular here in Manila. I’ve seen quite a number of women sporting variants of the look, either they’re just out shopping or they’re out clubbing.

I had needed a pair of shoes to complete my styled outfit, so, I decided to head on over to Schushop and found this cute low-heeled stilleto pumps in apricot. It adds to the outfit’s uniqueness, IMHO. It’s a cross between wearing a stiletto and flats. It’s not too dressy and not too casual either.

I had fun doing this activity. It’s great that there are local brands worth looking into.

What about you? What kind of outfit can you come up with for this season? :)
Note: Schu is a global brand distributed locally. For more info, read a related post on Schu.

I can’t imagine this outfit holding up to the rain. Just a thought… :)

Rico: Good call. :) Then I guess that the wearer should know it best not to wear it when there’s heavy downpour. It’s just reminiscent of summer and all it’s fashion glory. And even when the country’s drenched with rain, it can still get warm enough to validate a person’s wearing an outfit like it, don’t you agree? ;)

I always manage to find a top or two that I love from Folded & Hung. I can’t say the same for Schu though, save your orange plexi-heel!

Even with the heat of summer, I can’t seem to get the guts to wear shorts. Poor me. If I could, I’d pair that outfit with leggings, though.

hi sasha, definitely you’ll look dazzling with those pairs…i so love the shorts, i wonder if F&H does have a size 16…dream on :)

I just visited their site and was surprised to see their amazing collection. I’m not a big F&H shopper, but with Maja and Angel donning such fabulous threads, I think I’d give it a try.
